Let’s focus on the all new Sparkfun Qwiic transparent Graphical OLED breakout. It works best in the dark but is also visible in the daylight. It allows you to display your own custom images over a transparent display using SPI or I2C protocols. The  Qwiic system makes it easy and also does not require any soldering. With 128x64 pixels of display in the OLED area, upto 128x56 pixels is transparent. Provision has been made by way of 0.1"-spaced pins for using on a breadboard. The display can be powered up using a 3.3v source to generate a 400mA as power supply. It is not suggested to be used with a microcontroller with a minimal memory such as the ATmega328. So for controlling the functions of the OLED it is suggested to use a microcontroller with a higher RAM and Sparkfun’s Hyper display library.

  • 128x56 transparent pixels (128x64 total pixels)
  • Display area 35.5 x 18mm
  • Glass area 42mm x 27.16mm
  • 1-bit color depth
  • I2C or SPI operation
  • 400 kHz I2C, 10 MHz SPI
  • I2C Addresses: 0x30 (Default), 0x31
  • Qwiic compatible and standard PCB footprint
  • Operates and communicates at 3.3V
  • Less than 200 mA current draw pixels all-on
