In giving you the best as always, we are launching our Raspberry Pi 3 Media Center kit with some new cool stuff. The IR remote is preconfigured and hence all one needs to do is plug in the IR TSOP receiver into the appropriate slots/pins on the Raspberry Pi as shown in the supplied manual. Please bear in mind that IR works primarily on line-of-sight (just like your TV remote). So make sure that the remote is aligned to the IR sensor when you use it. The supplied official Raspberry Pi case will have a cover on the left side and will cover the IR sensor. If you cover the sides the IR sensor might work only when you operate the remote TOO close to the sensor. We suggest you leave that side of the case open for smooth operation of the remote.
