DESCRIPTION

HealthyPi is a fully open source, one-of-a-kind vital signs monitor based on a Raspberry Pi as the main computer. This HAT add-on board sits atop the Raspberry Pi 3’s 4o-pin expansion header and turns it into a complete vital sign monitor

After running a successful Crowd-Supply campaign to get this off the ground, this is now available directly from ProtoCentral India, ProtoCentral USA and also from Crowd Supply.  

Available as a HAT add-on board for Raspberry Pi or a complete kit including the Raspberry Pi along with a microSD card with all the software pre-installed. 

Features and Specifications

  • Parameters monitored:
  • ECG - single lead with a driven right-leg (DRL) electrodes
  • Respiration – using impedance pneumography with the same leads used for ECG
  • Photoplethysmogram (PPG) and SpO2: done with a Nellcor-style finger clip sensor probe
  • Temperature: digital skin temperature sensor with 0.1 C accuracy
  • Microchip/Atmel ATSAMD21 microcontroller with Arduino bootloader for Arduino M0/Zero compatibility. 
  • USB-CDC interface: Can also work in standalone mode without a Raspberry Pi
  • TI ADS1292R 24-bit analog-frontend chip for ECG and respiration
  • TI AFE4400 pulse-oximetry front-end chip for SpO2
  • Maxim MAX30205 digital temperature sensor
  • Dimensions (board only): 65 mm x 56.5 mm x 6 mm

  • Finger-clip Spo2 probe with “Nellcor-compatible” DB9 connector

  • A sheet of 20 Single-use disposable ECG electrodes (Covidien Medi-Trace)
  • HAT mounting kit with headers and screws for stacking up the board with a Raspberry Pi
